Posted Dec 21, 2010 by Cynthia Conn

This is a collaborative lesson that integrates technology, language arts, and music. It was implemented by the technology teacher, librarian, and the third grade classroom teachers. Through this collaborative unit, students completed several instructional activities including an introduction to the music and a deeper study of the story of The Magic Flute, reading of Mary Pope Osborne’s Magic Tree House #41: Moonlight on the Magic Flute, creating a drawing of the “Temple of Wisdom” using a paint software tool, attending a production of The Magic Flute, and reflecting upon and analyzing the performance.
